At the end of World War I the full automatic windshield wiper for cars was invented!!! My grandpa Henri told me very proud, that he was one of the first to own a car where he enjoyed the automatic windshield wiper, safer and easier than before.
One day during my sabbatical in 2002 I saw a window washers washing the windows of a high-rise building in rather windy conditions, and my mind thought of grandpa and his first car. So why not wash these buildings automatic?!!
Loved the idea and together with my dad René Kahn we made first steps to do market research and study the technical- and economic feasibility of the idea.
Geurt Roelofsen contacted us in 2003 with additional ideas and we combined forces.
We decided to prove the technical feasibility first, by producing our first proto-type. We developed with help of Lara Engineering, through path of pre- study, calculations 2- and 3 CAD drawings the first test model.
This animation was the starting of further developments.
The molds needed for the aluminium window extrusions, were ordered in China. The first extrusions were delivered with transport damage, lots of effort to make them ok to build
Due to the imperfection this Proto-type was rather noisy, but the technical feasibility was proven and the result: a Clean Window!!! It was possible ….!!!
